Transformational Events + Festivals - 2026 Edition!

Hello :) Thank you for visiting this big database which I am co-creating. This is a work in progress and I will be updating it more in the near future. My intention is to compile a list of many festivals and events which have a general vibe of “transformational” - meaning that they are a bit different than the average Music Festival…

Transformational events are typically a more family-friendly environment, with less drugs and alcohol. Some of the events listed are overtly sober environments.

These types of events of have made a huge positive impact on my life, and hundreds of people I know personally. I’ve been attending these types of events consistently since 2011. These are not “utopian” environments with zero conflicts or issues, but they are making wonderful strides towards building environments with more co-creation, connection, authenticity, healing, and creative expression.

Transformational events also have more intention woven into them, and often include workshops, art installations and other ways to get involved. 

I cannot personally vouch for these events that they will meet x, y, and z expectations, but most of these events I’ve either been to, or have a friend or two that is involved with them. It is my main intention to let people know that these events are happening, then leave it up to you to research them further and decide if you want to check them out. Even if you never go to any (which I don’t recommend) it can still be inspiring to know they are happening. It truly gives me hope for humanity to see so many Transformational Events sprouting up worldwide.

These events are categorized in pretty much chronological order, yet the locations can vary quite a bit. I will be including events in this database on the entire Eastern half of the U.S. I intend for this list to keep growing over time, and also, many of these events are annual, so I will keep updating every month or so to add the new years date and info. Additionally, there are many “transformational” events sprouting up in cities all across the world. I highly recommend spending a few minutes searching on Google and/or Facebook : “Ecstatic Dance in….(and type your town)” or “Sound Healing in…(and type your town). There may be Facebook groups for promoting wellness and transformational events for your general area.

Another realm to explore are Powwows which are big community events hosted by many Indigenous / First Nation communities. You can check out this website to explore Powwows across the country : CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO.

Reggae Festivals also usually have a great community atmosphere, so it is worth doing some Google Searches to see if you can find any Reggae events or festivals near you. Additionally FlowFests are happening all over the U.S. and similar ones too. I highly recommend CLICKING HERE for more info on FlowFests.

You may be surprised at the cool stuff you can find just by putting a few minutes towards research. Personally, I highly recommend exploring Ecstatic Dance if you’ve never tried it. It’s a free form movement practice which usually brings together a very welcoming and uplifting community atmosphere. Many of the towns listed below have an Ecstatic Dance community.
