How To Start Your Day Like a LION

I believe that it is CRUCIAL to have some sort of Morning Practice, if you expect to be operating at your greatest capacity throughout the day. During this astrological season of Leo, the archetype of the Lion is a common theme. If I want to start my day like a Lion, I will do things that help me to feel ENERGIZED, EMPOWERED, and ENCOURAGED.

I will share some of the Key Components that have tremendously helped me over the past 13 years of cultivating a Morning Practice to harmonize and activate my Mind, Body + Spirit.

  1. Your Morning Practice Actually Begins The Night Before - I recommend making a to-do list for the next day, that way you can focus for at least 20 minutes on getting your Mind, Body + Spirit harmonized, before jumping into your other daily tasks. Also, doing your best to optimize your sleep will help you start the next day on the right foot.

  2. Drinking High-Quality Water First Thing In Morning - Our bodies actually use and lose water while we sleep, through exhaling moisture and potentially sweating. I recommend drinking at least 20oz of high quality water within the first 5 minutes of waking up, before putting any food or other beverages in your body.

  3. OXYGENATE YOUR CELLS! - Gary Brecka and his team of scientists have documented a clear correlation between ELEVATED EMOTIONAL STATES and Increased Oxygen in the Brain. The opposite is also correlated : DEPRESSED EMOTIONAL STATES with Decreased Oxygen in the Brain. In conclusion - getting Fresh Air and some Breathwork (even just for one minute) in the morning is a great idea!

  4. Focus Your Mind - I recommend saying Affirmations, Mantras or Singing Uplifting Lyrics within the first 5 minutes of waking up. It builds positive Mental Momentum.

  5. Wake Up Your Body - Stretching, Dancing, Walking, Jumping are all great ways to shift from Sleep Mode into Take-On-The-Day Mode.

  6. Play Inspiring Music - It is remarkable how powerful music can be. I highly recommend getting good quality speakers to play music that makes you excited about life. Personally I love the JBL Partybox Speaker. I also have over 1000 inspiring songs that I could recommend. You could potentially listen to one new song every day for nearly 3 years!

  7. Connect To Mother Earth + The Elements - All wild animals are constantly in contact with Mother Earth + the Elements. Whereas some humans goes weeks, months or even years without putting their barefeet on the living earth. I find immense benefit from walking barefoot in the grass each morning. Even if its just for 5 minutes. You can release EMF’s and other discordant energy from your body and DRAW IN electrons, which help many of your bodily processes.

  8. Minimize Distractions - I recommend setting firm boundaries for yourself around Phone Usage or other potential distractions during your Morning Practice.

  9. Sweating Is A Sign That Your Body Is Activated - Many people have resistance towards exercising in the morning, but it is honestly one of the top things that helps me to have a phenomenal day. When it comes to Exercise, I do believe “You get what you put in.” The benefits are amplified when you give a solid effort and at least break a sweat.

  10. Cleanse with a Hot/Cold Shower - The cleansing power of water is incredible! Personally, I like to start with hot water and use soap and shampoo, then end with at least one minute of water on the coldest level possible. Cold Therapy has countless health benefits, one of the best being that it decreases Inflammation, which is linked to most illness.

  11. Review Your To-Do List + Take Conscious Action - This is the last step in my morning practice, so I can map out the tasks of the day, and do my best to attend to them consciously.
